The Dermatology Center of Raleigh PA was founded by Carol Trakimas. D.O., FAAD. Dr. Trakimas is board certified by the American Academy of Dermatology. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Canisius College in Buffalo, New York, her Master of Science degree in Biochemistry and Immunology from the State University of New York at Buffalo and her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her internship and specialty residency training at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

Dr. Trakimas served for 10 years in the United States Army. She left the military service as Lieutenant Colonel and was Chief of Dermatology at Ft Bragg in North Carolina. After her career in the US Army, she has been practicing general medical, surgical and cosmetic Dermatology in private practice in both North Carolina and Virginia. She has extensive expertise in the evaluation and treatment of common and complicated general medical Dermatologic disorders, is a skilled Dermatologic surgeon and is highly regarded in the arena of Dermatologic rejuvenation/ Cosmetic Dermatology. She is especially known to be a very knowledgeable, compassionate and caring Dermatologist.
